Jose Luis Vicente and Irma Vilà , in collaboration with Bestiario, have created an interactive installation in Flash that allows you to explore the radio spectrum – the electromagnetic space covering signals from radio and television to GPS, bluetooth, and mobile phones. The piece represents a database of projects and services (in the the radio spectrum) developed over the past decade.
[The Atlas is] an archive of all the different interventions in Hertzian Space conceived and executed by artists, designers, social movements, activists, hackers and other members of civil society. We believe this to be specially important because it demonstrates how alternative readings and perspectives on these technologies, and the policies regulating them, can enrich their social and cultural potential beyond their designated uses.
The Views
They provide two views – services and the projects views.

The spectrum is presented as a brightly lit wall; moving from left to right of the wall, you browse the wavelengths. The two-ended timeline on the bottom of the visualization allows you to expand and compress the view which means you can choose what section of the spectrum you want to see.
