I figured out how I am going to get rich, and I’m going to share my secret with you. I’m going to become a high-profile banking executive, do a horrible job, get fired, and then end up rolling in cash. You think to yourself, “Uh, that doesn’t sound right you crazy kook.” Ah, but that’s where you’re wrong. That’s the American way! In the below infographic slash comic, we see executives stepping down from their top-floor, corner office with millions of dollars and a golden parachute to slow down the fall.
This infographic was created by Jess at WallStats, who is starting to become a regular here on FlowingData (and Mint). If you want to win one of his stylish, dead sexy posters, this is the last day to do it. Get your entries in now.
[Thanks, Jess]
I like the idea behind this graphic, but…
The height of the graphic is annoying. I understand that it is being used to tell the story across the timeline in a humorous fashion. But when the story is full of misspelled words, it’s not worth scrolling down and reading each data point.
It is clear to me that time was taken to collect the data, arrange it in the appropriate order, design the graphic, and publish it. But would it have been so hard to spellcheck it. All the hard work was done prior to that point.
Yes, the numbers are important, but the message is important too. These little icky-picky things will take away from the message.
I think Jess might need to hire a copy editor :)
lol, I have a copy editor. You will find the typo free image on the mint site. Nathan, can you update?

There are several, especially in the first data point.
I apologize if I came across as surly. I meant to be helpful.
