This graphic, from Mike Arauz, describes different levels of online friendship, starting at passive interest (read your blog but not much else) up to investment (deeply care about your success). I originally thought it was just one of those comic infographics, but there’s some good discussion going on in the comments of the original post and the Arauz’ response.
[Thanks, @JeffHurt]
Everyone’s a critic, including me:
– This isn’t a perfectly linear scale (e.g. I can think of examples where I’ve advocated someone’s work, even though our relationship was somewhere around “passive interest”)
– The spectrum color scheme is kind of odd; doesn’t it seem most intense where it’s dark around private dialog?
I second BCC’s comments.
I concur. (Maybe that didn’t need saying, but I didn’t want to be left on the bottom rung.)
