Spectrum of Online Friendship
This graphic, from Mike Arauz, describes different levels of online friendship, starting at passive interest (read your blog but not much else) up to investment (deeply care about your success). I originally thought it was just one of those comic infographics, but there's some good discussion going on in the comments of the original post and the Arauz' response.

Everyone’s a critic, including me:
- This isn’t a perfectly linear scale (e.g. I can think of examples where I’ve advocated someone’s work, even though our relationship was somewhere around “passive interest”)
- The spectrum color scheme is kind of odd; doesn’t it seem most intense where it’s dark around private dialog?
I second BCC’s comments.
I concur. (Maybe that didn’t need saying, but I didn’t want to be left on the bottom rung.)
