I’ve been using Mozilla Firefox for years and have nothing but good things to say about the most recently released Firefox 3. Whenever I borrow someone else’s computer, and all he has is Internet Explorer, I feel wrong and dirty.
When I think Internet Explorer, I think vulnerability, crashing, spyware, adware, sluggishness, and more crashing. I imagine running AdAware on my mom’s laptop over and over again.
This calendar graphic on the Mozilla front page captures that idea nicely. While a bar graph, pie chart, or just the numbers alone would have shown the data just fine, the calendars put the numbers into perspective. The calendars give readers a way to relate to the data, which makes the story all that much more clear.

Yeah, I’d like to use Firefox exclusively, but the fonts render poorly, and using Google RSS, I keep getting an error message. I have disabled all add-ons with no success. It’s so bad that I can’t scroll thru a dozen feeds without getting the “oops…” message.
So I’m bi-browser: Safari when I want to read RSS, and Firefox for the heavy lifting.

that’s weird, although i think i’ve heard of that problem before. personally, i never had that trouble.

The calendar graph seems to suggest there are no threats in November and December, even for IE. Wouldn’t it be better to pick the dots at random ? It also suggests December had 34 days that year. Why not us a more realistic calendar ?

huh, looks like there was an oversight with december. someone accidentally put three extra squares at the beginning. i think the rest of the calendars are accurate to the 2006 year though.
Random could be a good choice, but the difference wouldn’t look as dramatic even though the same number of squares are filled in.

Never had a problem with IE, not once. I guess its the sites I got to. I dont know. I dont know anyone else who’s had a problem other than news reports – but then I dont believe a thing I hear in the news unless it has a video and even then….
Having said that, I use FF and probably 80% of the time. Its nice, I like it and like the customizations I can add to it. But I never had a problem with IE and I really dont know what all these reports of problems are.
