Web-based Analysis and Visualization Environment, or Weave for short, is open source software intended for flexible visualization.
Weave (BETA 1.0) is a new web-based visualization platform designed to enable visualization of any available data by anyone for any purpose. Weave is an application development platform supporting multiple levels of user proficiency — novice to advanced — as well as the ability to integrate, disseminate and visualize data at “nested” levels of geography.
It looks like everything is done through a click interface, and you can piece together modules and link them, etc. There is some setup involved, but there are a number of video tutorials and documents to get everything installed.
Source code also available on GitHub.

&mdsah; ?! That should be —
Anyone know how scalable it is?
I intend to play with Weave and see what I can learn about how they’ve put it together … but not to implement it.
The reason? Flash/ActionScript.
It isn’t religion, just the limited skillsets my team has to work with, as well as the mobile issue.
We offshored a simple tool to look at datasets we curate, and I’m trying to rescue it from pointlessness right now. It’s built on top of a Drupal CMS in PHP and … the Google Charts API. The results look like somebody did it in Excel. Not optimal, to say the least.
Does anyone know of a FOSS platform with similar capabilities and viz focus that’s implemented on, I don’t know, Python, Processing.js, etc? Even a framework would be fine if it got me closer to fine …
I’d love to know about that!!
