Something for you leading into the Thanksgiving weekend. Enjoy this short video (below) by Amy Thornley, which she made for smile for london. It was animated frame-by-frame in Excel. I look forward to when someone makes this an actual game. That way you could play it at the office, and it would look like you’re working when you pause it.

That’s excellent. The geek in me immediately thinks – did she write a macro or do it by hand, cell-by-cell? Either way, kudos to her for an amusing animation.

Lots of incredible Excel games at http://www.excelgames.org. Who knew you could make a spreadsheet program do some of these things?!
nice
Hi,
I just found your post after wondering why I received 4,000 hits in one day! Thanks very much for the blog post, so glad that people like it! And to answer the question above it was made painfully frame by frame! It’s very cool that games actually exist for excel!
Hi Amy
I bet somebody somehwere is, right now, writing a macro to do the animation automatically!
Andy
I certainly hope so, would be very cool to actually play it !
Heavy use of the format painting brush, I suppose! Fun stuff.
This is too cool! I have found my new calling in life……..ok maybe not!
A little thanks from me (:
