Time Warner Cable explains how a picture travels from Jeff’s phone to Vijay’s laptop. Obviously it is a bit simplified. I spent a full semester on step four alone back in my electrical engineering days, and still don’t know what the heck happens there. That was a rough semester.

this is a pathetic simplification. there is practically no info of substance in the picture. surprised to see it on this blog.
This is the kind of graphic you show to someone who says things like “And how does the picture get from my camera to your computer?”
For someone like that this contains all kinds of information, such as the distinction between MMS and IP packets, and the message request system for email servers.
What more would you like to see?
Loved it, would have been better if they spelled unpack correctly at the end though.
