		<description>It&#039;s certainly big, but somewhat misleading.  It doesn&#039;t show oil density. 
When it puts it over my house, it gives the impression that most of the surrounding land would be covered in black muck, but in reality a large percentage of the area of it would be pretty thin with oil and perhaps not even noticeable.  The diesel soot in the air around here is probably thicker than the oil density in much of this spill.   

There&#039;s also a 2-D vs. 3-D thing going on, with the spill in the water ranging throughout the depth of the water and not just over a surface.  Having thought about it, I think I am less clear about the size of this spill.  Any other ideas for showing the size of this?   The news seems to like Olympic sized swimming pools as it if was a standard unit of measure, and the use of barrels works, it seems to get lost.  This should be great fodder for new visualization ideas, of which I have none.

And is it really a &quot;spill&quot;?  That word has been bothering me, but I cannot think of a better one.</description>
