Actually, the graph should be more like a 2nd degree polynomial.
When you're really stupid, you're happy just naturally, because you like the sun and the flowers and etc.

When you get to average intelligence and a bit beyond you start becoming a bit more sad, as you realize there are drawbacks to everything(life, love etc), and once you realize the inevitability of lose and so on.

Then if you're smart enough you might just realize that while all that depressing stuff is true, you are nonetheless incredibly lucky to be alive at all. You might realize how unfathomably unlikely it was for all your ancestors to meet and have the kids they had so that at some point in time you might exist for a short while on this blue rock.
Then you might realize that, considering that you are alive(and probably better off than a good portion of the earth's population also, since you have access to a computer), complaining about life would be pretty much like complaining that you didn't also win a car in the lottery, besides the house and million bucks
Then you start being happy again, because you like the sun and the flowers.

Just my 2 cents off course :)

yes but a truly intelligent person would realize that they cannot solve all the problems themselves. it is the attempting and failing that makes an intelligent person unhappy.

If your not smart enough to figure out that you choose to make yourself happy, then there is no hope for you. The idea that intelligence is required to realize that the world is messed up is itself rather unintelligent. An intelligent person sees possibilities and does not resign themselves to live in a 'messed up world'. Intelligence is the ability to solve problems, reason, and plan. An intelligent person is creative so to claim that being more intelligent simply means throwing in the towel on making yourself happy seems pretty stupid.

I probably will never see the site again as i only wanted the pricture of the graph. However it is very true that intellegence makes ya unhappy. When you are stupid you don't realize how crappy things are. Oh and intellegence is very bad for your love life... get too smart and you overanalyze the relationship till ya find every possible fault and flaw and talk yourself out of even trying. This is my love life with my little angel.

I refer you to along came polly for proof.
